Camp Overview
Becoming an LIT is the perfect introduction to learning to be a camp counselor! It’s your 8th grader’s first taste of a leadership role, where they can bring enthusiasm and exciting camp moments to a regular camp day. LITs will have handson experience working with Camp Isidore Alterman campers. These individuals will focus on the Jewish value of ruach (spirit), bringing enthusiasm and positivity to the camp community. LITs participate in weekly cohort meetings featuring leaders from the community to focus on leadership development, team building, and best practices for working with children. They are eligible to receive hours of community service.
The LIT program is available in three-week sessions, with a fee of $150 per week. LITs must be registered for camp, and the LIT Coordinator will reach out to them with an intake form. There will be mandatory junior staff training prior to camp beginning.
