SIT: Staff in Training

Camp Overview

SITs will have hands-on experience working with campers at Camp Isidore Alterman. These creative and hardworking
individuals focus on the Jewish value of Tikkun Olam (social justice/community service) with weekly projects to make the world
better and engage campers. SITs participate in twice-weekly cohort meetings focusing on leadership development, moving
from ideas to action, and best practices for working with children. They are eligible to receive hours of community service.

The SIT program is offered in three-week sessions, with a fee of $100 per week. Becoming an SIT is a two-part process. The SIT
must be registered for camp and submit a staff application. The SIT Coordinator will set up an interview with the SIT
candidate, and there will be mandatory junior staff training prior to camp beginning.

The SIT program is a proud partner of JumpSpark, The Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta’s teen initiative, and is not eligible
for financial assistance or the Multiple-Week Discount. MJCCA Day Camps registration and refund policies (see page 26) also apply to
the SIT Program. Additionally, MJCCA Day Camps will not issue any credits or refunds if you are terminated from the SIT program at
any point during the summer. SIT participants are placed in a Camp Isidore Alterman group with limited spots. The deadline to register
for the SIT Program is May 15, 2024.
