What to Bring to Camp

Campers should wear comfortable clothing and shoes to camp each day. Please send the following – all clearly labeled with their full first and last name – with your camper each day:

  • Backpack
  • Sunscreen – Please send your child to camp with sunscreen already applied and a bottle of sunscreen. The camp staff will make sure that sunscreen is reapplied throughout the day.
  • Non-perishable lunch and two snacks.
  • Water Bottle
  • Sneakers – Please no open-toed shoes, flip-flops, or Crocs
  • Swimsuit and towel
  • Campers attending Sports Camps should bring all appropriate equipment
  • Mask (optional)

If there are any other specific items that your child should bring based on their camp for the week, we will communicate those needs through the weekly welcome email.

Each camper will receive a camp shirt during their first week of camp.

Electronics Policy

MJCCA Day Camps does not allow the use of cellphones, iPods, iPads, etc. at our camps or on trips. Please remind your child to leave these devices at home. If your child ever needs to reach you, we will contact you via the camp office. The MJCCA is not responsible if your camper brings a device and it is misplaced.

Camper Behavior

We do not tolerate behavioral issues that jeopardize the safety and wellbeing of other campers and staff. Failure to adhere to behavior guidelines in the Parent Handbook will result in immediate dismissal with inability to return that week, with no refund. Length of dismissal is at Director’s discretion. If the dismissal extends to future weeks, a credit for those weeks will be applied to your MJCCA account.

Lost and Found

Each Friday, we will place lost and found in the Arts & Crafts Shelter on the MJCCA Day Camps grounds and parents are welcome to come look for items on the weekend. All unclaimed items will be donated every three weeks throughout the summer. Please label all of your child’s belongings with his/her FULL first and last name. We find that google, towels, and water bottles are the most unlabeled items and are most likely to end up in lost and found.
